Third Trimester
MONTH 7:
The baby will start sucking his/her thumb. It will be 15 to 16 inches and 2 1/2 pounds to 3 pounds.
MONTH 8:
This is when the baby's brain will grow a lot. Lungs may still be immature. The baby will weigh about 5 pounds and be 18 to 19 inches long.
MONTH 9:
The baby's lungs are now fully mature and ready to function on their own.
